APPEARANCE

Sharky is a 54-year-old white man standing at probably about 5'10". He has long, shaggy brown hair and an equally post-apoc hipster beard. Normally dressed in shabby and unclean layers and equipped with snowboard goggles for eye protection, he smells like he sleeps in a distillery (he does) and looks like he's just crawled out of a bunker (he has!).

Since joining come_sailaway, Sharky's taken to wearing almost exclusively Tommy Bahama and ship-branded merchandise. He now smells like 3 different colognes/soaps at a time, and keeps his beard and long hair clean! Some noticeable markings include a permanent goggle-line from his "safety" goggles, heavily faded flame tattoos from his wrist to mid-forearm, and a series of burn marks that litter his body.

VOICE

Sharky is a laid-back kinda dude, prone to rambling and kinda slurring his words. I really don't know how to explain it, so here's a clip of meeting him and him gushing about his baby nephew. And for comparison, here is a clip of him from before the apocalypse, to get a sense of his story-telling... uh... prowess. Expect lots of exclamations, swearing, and a lot of words some characters might not understand at all. ("What do you mean, you don't know what methamphetamines are?")

ATTITUDE

Laid-back is Sharky's general vibe. He's always been relatively mellow and go-with-the-flow about life, but since the apocalypse, he has matured his view. It's likely if you talk with him, you'll hear at least one story about his exploits with his cousin Hurk. You'll also hear about his baby boy, Blade -- who is his cousin's kid, but they're co-parenting together. ("Damn, I don't have any pictures on account of, y'know, the global apocalypse, but trust me, this kid is CUTE.")

However, a few key issues will trigger Sharky's dislike: religious cults/extremism, talking about brainwashing like it's a cool and smart thing to do, ambivalence towards the end of his world, being mean to kids, stealing shit without trying to be cool about it first, and most importantly: being part of law enforcement. It's nothing personal, man, it's just like. ACAB, you know? Every cop ends up a disappointment. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Opt Out: Sharky can be A LOT, and while his heart is in the right place he sometimes says and does extremely stupid (and possibly ignorant) things. He's also from a canon that revolves heavily around religious cults (of a non-specific Christian-style denomination), mind-control, HEAVY drug use (both consensual and otherwise), lots of functional alcoholism, and all the usual post-apocalyptic trappings. If any of this bothers you, or if you want to opt-out entirely from Sharky interactions, just let me know! No problemo.

Flirting: People flirting with him will notice he immediately has no fucking idea what to do. This is encouragement, not a deterrent.
More...?: Sharky is a 54-year-old dude who hasn't gotten laid since before the apocalypse. I promise you if you proposition him he will say yes. That is, so long as the age difference doesn't squick him out. ("Let's see, 54 divided by half, add 7... How old did you say you were???")
Fighting: Sharky is a lover AND a fighter. Fistfights and bar brawls are a familiar refrain for him, but I do like OOC communication to make sure the scene goes the way we want!
Injuring: Yes! We should talk about it OOC to make sure it hurts :)
Killing: That's definitely something we have to talk out, but I'm not opposed...
Anything Else: I'm not a big fan of "never" - if you've got something specific in mind, I am down to talk it out and see where it goes!
